The largest „Parken“ trade fair yet, took place from the 23rd – 25th of September alongside the 17th international congress of the European Parking Association with an overall attendance of over 2200 visitors. In total the joint event brought in a visitor plus of 70% compared to the previous event.


The „Parken“ is Germany’s only specialised exhibition for the planning, building and running of facilities for stationary traffic. 112 exhibitors and 15 publishers presented their products and services on an area of roughly 5000 m².


546 delegates attended the 17th international Congress of the European Parking Association. Various lectures under the motto „Parking in the world of tomorrow“ were on offer such as the chances and challenges of digitalisation, new business models and techniques, parking space politics and customer behaviour. Also the industry prizes of the ETA award were presented in five categories


The presentation from BMW got special attention from the visitors. The manufacturer of premium automobiles from Bavaria also wants to engage itself as the leading mobility services provider for stationary and moving traffic. Joachim Hauser - the vice president of parking and charging at the BMW Group - mentioned examples that have already been implemented such as the car sharing services „DriveNow“ and the parking service „ParkNow“.


The Bundesverband Parken e.V. (Federal Association for Parking) was the joint host and organiser along with Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH.


Dr. Karl Ludwig Ballreich, the chairman of the Bundesverband Parken e.V. concludes: „The joint event of the EPA congress and Parken was an exceptional event in all the best ways. Competent information was available on topics that are important to the industry such as digitalisation and its resulting chances and challenges. The combination of the international congress and trade exhibition Parken has given us new impulses and inspiration as this years hosting association. The EPA congress and Parken in Berlin were the highlight for the parking industry in 2015.


The 18th EPA congress and exhibition will take place from the 20th - 22nd of September 2017 in Rotterdam in the Netherlands.


The next Parken exhibition will be on the 21st and 22nd of June 2017 at the Messe Karlsruhe.
The Bundesverband Parken e.V. (Federal Association for Parking) has around 300 private and communal companies as its members, who administer over 1 million car parking spaces in over 2520 objects in the whole of Germany. The association represents around 80% of the industry depicts its range of diversity. It represents the industry specific interests of its members towards federal and national authorities in the areas of urban traffic and parking space administration and surveillance. The association is ideal to carry the Parken exhibition and regularly organises symposiums such as the competence forum Parken. The Bundesverband Parken e.V. is a founding member of the European Parking Association EPA.
